Washington, Sept. 7, 2010 - Global public relations agency Ketchum today announced that Laura Wilkinson, former Press Secretary for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, has joined the agency’s Public Affairs practice as a Media Strategist.

Wilkinson brings to Ketchum nearly 10 years of media outreach and Capitol Hill experience. For the last five years, she played a key role in promoting Feinstein’s legislative efforts to enhance energy market oversight, boost the fuel efficiency of America’s cars and trucks, and improve California’s outdated water infrastructure, among other issues of local and national importance.

Prior to joining Feinstein’s press office, Wilkinson held several positions at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a leading national security and foreign policy think tank. Her most recent role at the Center was Deputy Director of Congressional Relations, in which she managed outreach to legislators and congressional staff. Before this, she served as Assistant Director of External Relations and as Program Coordinator for the Center’s regional program on Europe. Wilkinson also served as a Development Associate at the Democratic Leadership Council.

“Laura’s experience on the Hill and in think tanks will be a tremendous benefit to our clients as they navigate Washington’s ever-churning media environment,” said Don Foley, Ketchum’s Director of North American Public Affairs.

Wilkinson received a master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University and an undergraduate degree in international relations from Brown University.
